You'd think that after 2 months these threads would stop, or at least the number of them would dwindle. Oh please, now you're giving a company an ultimatum? Get real, this is a game, in a game such as this you can give feedback that is read and not scrapped, you've given your feedback, if you still aren't happy.. the solution is to find a game that you enjoy. You obviously don't enjoy this one, so please, find another.

I wouldn't be surprised if ArenaNET stopped releasing updates, or abandoned the game all together, and I wouldn't blame them either.

PvP.

To jack up the faction rate provides grotesque imbalancing in the PvP/PvE overlap.
So, you're saying you should be rewarded because you've played through PvE, like almost any PvP player?

Or do you mean the PvE drops should be balanced with faction? Then sure, I completely agree with you. However, at the momemt, skill aqusition is a lot easier in PvE, and mod unlocks are a lot easier in PvP.

First of all, those two needs a balance.

Secondly, is punishing PvP players the way to go to balance the unlocks? Wouldn't it be a lot better to simply, say, increase the PvE drops so PvE players would also get unlocks quicker resulting in a general trend where playing through PvE would give you all the unlocks?

Thirdly, I thought I told you to start thinking before you made replies, and just please, please, can you go and buy yourself a clue?

The use of that drop is to allow a PvP player unlocks through PvP.
As for the rest of your post, read above.

You were speaking for us all, and that is not sane. Lumping us into 2 distinct categories of what you believe Guild Wars players to be made up of, and then setting off into the world of 'idle speculation' as to what constitutes the passions, and experiences of all of us, in...2...distinct...phylums.

Once again, explain how you know this god-like data.

More then that, but I'll admit I exaggerated. What really made a difference was that the first batch of players were pioneers. GWG was not equipped with the database it was now, and people were eager to play PVP. So instead of finding out you could do XXX quest all the way down the road to get Lightning Orb, you can frigging buy it at Yaks Bend, only to regret it. Later on the patch changed so that the skill trainers got rearranged so that the quest skills came first. They even changed alot of the tutorial thing, retail at first gave you 3 skills for monk, now it gives 2. It's much more different and alot of people didn't know the exp treadmill past 20 was going to be so hard. Remember, we didn't have set base XP back then, we had a treadmill that went higher and higher, my first character had to get around 100k exp just to level up once. That's 5x more then what I need now.

I mean, when you think about it, do you think someone who doesn't even like PVE would go for the skill quests that basically encourage more grind unless they did the math? Alot of us didn't, cause we thought it wouldn't be bullshit in the end. But it was. Most importantly, stuff like Price of Steel which wouldn't be considered new, didn't have skill rewards in the beginning. So even if you did them, you basically screwed yourself over if you did it in retail. Pikens Square Undertaker Cortis quest for family sigils? Didn't have Soul Feast at first. The shit adds up.

Default Solution Found!!!!

small diversion ...

I found the solution we have all been waiting for (we can kill of whiners, trolls, people bored with game, and heck ... immature littel kids who haven't the patience of a mature adult)

Close Guru forums for a month! Give the mods a break and weave out the whiners and little kids ... then in 1 months time the population will have halved, and can start fresher, we can have some decent talks for a month or 2 and bammo rinse repeat!

Agreed, but how goes increasing faction to 15 or 20 times it's level bring balance?

How is not granting PvP players special abilities to unlock everything punishing them? Again, the I want it all right now crowd.

Since when is Forge armor (the 1.5 k set) is aesthetic?

I am talking about subsets that require rare materials and most subsets require rare materials, its not like the 75k set are the only ones that require rare materials ... some even dont.

Have you seen the price of fur ... ascalon set avaible in ascalon requires a good amount of it and its the prefect set for players to use until they reach Kyrta and yet because of trader prices it requires a great deal of farming charr hides to get it, unless you happen to spend a large amount of gold to buy it from the merchant.

Actually that's the best god damn idea in weeks.

I've edited my post to say "some" players that I've observed insetad of a blanket generalization. Basically I am trying to say that in the spirit of competition, there's no reason to disagree with faction reward boost, unless you want your role playing character to maintain an edge over pvp ready characters.

The problem is the economy is unstable, prices spike all the time and one thing that costs 200 gp can cost 600 gp the next hour.
You are doing something seriously wrong if you have played through the game 1-2 times and have not accrued 600-800+ wood planks, 400-600+ iron, 200-300+ steel, ect. The building blocks should be the least of your concerns. Typically i always had enough of this junk to outfit 1-3 people in draknor's forge armor when my guild mates finished the run or ran through the dragon's lair. Usually i was elated to be able to help them and free up a few spots in my inventory. There were periods in time where i stopped salvaging things because i simply had no room to work with.

You do not need to make a mo/? character in order to farm.
You do not need to make a W/? character in order to farm.

I havent watched a me/? farm, but ive solod hydras with one to get the collector drops and move on. I have watched r/? solo witman's folley. In order to farm, all you need is the proper skills and the tools to create a win condition against the predictable pve environment. This is very different than trying to anticipate a pvp environment and trying to react to it with an incomplete weapon, rune, and skill options.

Complaining about the difficulty of an asthetic upgrade is very different from commenting on the time involved to get skills, weapon upgrades, and runes. Complaining that a pve character doesnt have the item unlocked when buying a weapon or rune doesnt make sense either as you can trade that item between any character on your own account. In other words, if you have it, you dont have to unlock it. Complaining about getting gold is fairly laughable too, as the actual gold drops may be uncommon, but you can sell anything to a vender and turn it into gold. Also, gold has a chance to drop from anything within this game, unlike others such as FFXI, where only specific monster types have a chance of dropping gold(gil). You also are not forced to compete with thousands of other players, at the same time, in order to get a chance at those drops, due to the unique world instancing.

Things that should concern the pve crowd should be, replayablilty, purpose of pvp to a pve character, and having a more evolving/dynamic environment to play within (see replayability). The last thing that should be on their minds is the amount of time that it takes to be pvp ready. If the pve crowd is concerned with that, then they are really the pvp crowd as well and the pve environment shouldnt concern them beyond how long it takes to cap skill x,y,z ect.
